Oregon Wildlife Carvings, Inc. was founded in October 1998, and produces detailed, elegant carvings of waterfowl to display in your home and office. The current product line offers two distinct collections—The Charter Collection and The Taber Collection.

The Charter Collection features 16 of the most popular waterfowl species in America, and is handcrafted from kiln-dried sugar pine harvested in the Pacific Northwest. This collection is designed to represent the essence of living birds.

The Taber Collection offers wood sculptures replicated in the style of Tom Taber. No other artist has had such an impact on the world of wildlife carvings. In addition to ducks and geese, products from The Taber Collection are made of alder, and feature specialties such as the egret, grouse, heron, pelican, pheasant, quail, and swan. The Taber Collection is divided into four distinct series lines.

  • The Classic Series is a full-sized line of duck decoys with detailed carving and unique coloring. Measuring from 13" to 20.5" (33 to 52cm) in length, each piece is an heirloom to be treasured generation after generation.
  • The Nat’s Pond Series will rekindle your memories of the “olden days.” These pieces are designed in a traditional decoy style, with simplified carving and paint detail, but plenty of charm. Measuring from 11.5" to15" (29cm to 38cm) in length, these decoys will bring the spirit of the outdoors into your home or office.
  • The Library Series is designed at approximately 50% of life size. These pieces are ideal for places where display space is limited. Although the carvings are smaller in size, there is no shortage of feather carving or painting detail. Each model measures from 8-1/2" to 11-1/4" (21.5cm to 28.5cm) in length.
  • The Specialty Series includes dramatic and stunning wood sculptures standing up to 27" (68.5cm) tall. Each piece features spectacular carving and painting detail. These pieces are unique, and will make a lasting statement in your home or office. Of special interest is our “Forever Geese” sculpture, symbolizing a lifetime of commitment (since geese mate for life). This makes a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift.

The Oregon Wildlife Carvings, Inc. includes a team of gifted artisans. Master finish carver Leah Jewell has been carving for over 18 years, with the last 11 years devoted specifically to ducks. Her fine finish work distinguishes the feather details on each carving. Additionally, Nancy Albro, master painter, possesses over 30 years of experience as a professional artist. She has co-authored eight books on folk art, which is directly applicable to decoy painting. Two of her prints are reproduced by the New York Graphics Society. If you ever need to contact us for any reason, Christina Tucker manages the office staff and will be happy to answer your questions.

Barry and the team at Oregon Wildlife Carvings, Inc. have a mutual interest in environmental protection and habitat preservation. We bring together years of experience with wildlife, woodworking, carving, artistry, and business to offer unique carvings that capture the essense of the wild. We believe we have developed a line of woodcarvings that will enrich your home, and the lives of those you share it with.
